In this episode of Care and Consequence, host Anna Sandidge, Greater Health Now Senior Director of Transformational Health Integration, is joined by Alayna Brinton, Founder and Chief Clinical Officer at Anchor Point Counseling, and clinician Sundae Stone for a conversation about what’s actually happening underneath the word “burnout” in the community-based workforce. They draw a line between burnout, compassion fatigue, and moral injury, walk through the Training and Resiliency Support Program that Greater Health Now built with Anchor Point, and share what a year of results looks like. In a workforce where roughly one in four community health workers intends to leave the profession, program participants are turning over at less than half that rate. Anna also shares why this work is personal for her, and why investing in the people who care for the community is both the right thing and the smart thing to do.
